1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (such as account details and content you create), information generated by your use of the app (such as device and usage information), and information from third-party services you choose to connect (such as Google Sign-In).
2. Account Information
To use News Video Maker, you create an account using one of the following methods: email and password, Google Sign-In, or phone number with OTP (one-time password) verification. Depending on the method you choose, we store your name, email address and/or phone number, and a securely hashed password where applicable.
3. Phone Number & OTP Authentication
If you sign in with your phone number, we verify it using a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. Depending on configuration, this verification is handled either by Firebase Phone Authentication or by an alternate SMS/OTP provider, 2Factor.in. We do not store the OTP code itself in plain text. Your phone number is stored to identify your account and to send future verification codes when you sign in.
4. Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account (such as your name, email address and profile picture) as permitted by Google's sign-in flow, to create and authenticate your account. We do not receive your Google password.
5. Device Information
We may collect technical information about your device, such as device model, operating system version, app version and general usage information, to help us maintain and improve the app.
6. Advertising & Google AdMob
News Video Maker may display advertisements through Google AdMob in certain parts of the app (such as during editing, preview or export, depending on configuration). Google AdMob may collect and use device identifiers and other information to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's own privacy policy. You can review Google's practices at their official privacy policy page.
7. Firebase Services
We use Firebase, a Google service, for functionality such as phone authentication. Firebase may process data such as your phone number and device information as part of providing this service, subject to Google's privacy and security practices.
8. Payment Processing
If you purchase a Premium subscription, payment is processed through a third-party payment gateway — which may include Razorpay, Cashfree, or a manually verified UPI payment, depending on what is enabled at the time. We do not store your full card, UPI or bank details on our servers; that information is handled directly by the payment gateway in accordance with its own security standards and privacy policy.
9. AI Voice Processing
If you use the AI Voice feature, the text you enter (up to 500 characters) is sent to a third-party text-to-speech service to generate the audio voice-over. This text is processed solely to generate your requested audio and is used to provide this feature to you.
10. SMS / OTP Providers
To deliver phone verification codes, we use either Firebase Phone Authentication or 2Factor.in, an SMS/OTP delivery provider, depending on configuration. Another SMS/OTP provider may be used in the future as our infrastructure evolves. These providers process your phone number solely to deliver the verification code.
11. User-Generated Media & Video/Image Handling
User-created videos and images are NOT permanently stored on our server as part of the normal editing/export workflow. Videos are composed and rendered on your device, and the final video is saved to your device's gallery/storage. Any temporary files created during editing or export are used only to complete that process and are not retained by us as permanent server-side storage.
12. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
13. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and encrypted transmission of sensitive data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Third-Party Services
News Video Maker integrates with third-party services including Firebase (Google), Google Sign-In, Google AdMob, 2Factor.in, Razorpay, Cashfree, and a text-to-speech provider for AI Voice. Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.
15. Children's Privacy
News Video Maker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
16. Your Rights, Account Deletion & Data Deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. To delete your account and associated data, please contact us using the details below or use the account deletion option in the app, where available. Once your deletion request is processed, we will remove your account information, subject to any data we are legally required to retain.
17. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
